Start and End Frames
Frames let you guide a video with still images. A Start frame tells the model where the clip begins. An End frame tells supported models where the clip should end.
Start frames
Section titled “Start frames”Use a start frame when you want to animate an existing image, product render, storyboard panel, or visual direction.
You can add a start frame in three ways:
- Select Animate on an Image Studio result.
- Select Animate to video from an image in the Studio Gallery.
- Upload a JPG or PNG from the Start frame chip in Video Studio.
Choose an image-to-video model
Section titled “Choose an image-to-video model”Select a model that shows the Start frame control.
Add the frame
Section titled “Add the frame”Upload a JPG or PNG, or arrive from Image Studio/Gallery using Animate.
Write motion instructions
Section titled “Write motion instructions”Describe what should happen after the still frame: camera movement, subject motion, expression changes, lighting shifts, or scene action.
Render
Section titled “Render”Select Render video. The model uses the start frame as the visual anchor.
End frames
Section titled “End frames”Some models support first-last-frame animation. When a start frame is present and the model supports end frames, Video Studio shows an End frame chip.
Use an end frame when you want:
- A product to rotate from one angle to another.
- A logo reveal to finish on a specific lockup.
- A character or scene to transition to a known final pose.
- A storyboard beat to move from panel A to panel B.
File limits
Section titled “File limits”| Surface | Accepted files | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Video Studio page | JPG or PNG | Under 10 MB |
| Chat video approval card | JPG or PNG | Under 4 MB |
Prompt tips for frame-based video
Section titled “Prompt tips for frame-based video”- Tell the model what should move, not just what the frame shows.
- Mention what should stay consistent, such as product shape, face identity, logo, or background.
- For end-frame transitions, describe the path between the two frames.
- Use a model with native audio if sound matters.
Example:
Start from the product photo and slowly orbit clockwise, keeping the label readable. End on the second image angle with warm studio lighting and a soft shadow.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”I do not see Start frame
Section titled “I do not see Start frame”The selected model may not support image-to-video. Choose another model from Models and Settings.
I do not see End frame
Section titled “I do not see End frame”End frames appear only when the model supports them and a start frame is already present.
My frame disappeared after switching models
Section titled “My frame disappeared after switching models”The new model cannot use that frame mode. Re-add the frame after choosing a compatible model.
The upload fails
Section titled “The upload fails”Check that the file is JPG or PNG and under the size limit for the surface you are using.
