File and Image Attachments
Chat attachments add prompt-specific context to a conversation. You can attach images for visual analysis or upload files for Aethera to inspect alongside your prompt.
Attachment Limits
Section titled “Attachment Limits”| Plan | Files per prompt | Per-file limit | Combined limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | 5 MB | 5 MB |
| Paid plans | 20 | 25 MB | 100 MB |
If you select more files than your plan allows, Aethera keeps the files that fit and skips the rest. If a file is too large, Aethera shows a toast explaining the limit.

Attachment Storage During Edits
Section titled “Attachment Storage During Edits”When editing a message that already has attachments, removing an existing file is only finalized after you submit the edit. If you cancel the edit, the original attached file remains intact.
When To Use Documents Instead
Section titled “When To Use Documents Instead”Chat attachments are best for one-off context. If you want a file to become reusable workspace knowledge, upload it from Documents or attach it to a Project.
