Manage account and defaults
Use Settings → Account to manage your profile, sign-in details, and default chat preferences.
Personal profile
Update your first and last name. Aethera sanitizes names before saving.
Sign-in
View your email and change your password with your current password.
Defaults
Choose the default model, persona, and thinking level for new conversations.
Open account settings
Section titled “Open account settings”Open Settings
Section titled “Open Settings”Click Settings in the sidebar.
Choose Account
Section titled “Choose Account”Select Account from the settings navigation.
Review the sections
Section titled “Review the sections”The page shows Personal, Sign-in, and Defaults sections.
Update your name
Section titled “Update your name”- Edit First name or Last name.
- The bottom save bar changes from All up to date to Unsaved changes.
- Click Save changes.
Use Reset before saving if you want to discard edits.
Email changes
Section titled “Email changes”The email field is displayed in the Sign-in section and may be disabled in the current UI. The page explains that email changes require confirmation from both the old and new addresses.
If an email change is available and saved, Aethera sends confirmation links to both addresses. Both confirmations must be completed before the change is finalized.
Change your password
Section titled “Change your password”Click Change password
Section titled “Click Change password”Open the password form in the Sign-in section.
Enter your current password
Section titled “Enter your current password”Aethera requires your current password before setting a new one.
Enter and confirm the new password
Section titled “Enter and confirm the new password”The new password must be at least 8 characters and must match the confirmation field.
Click Save in the password form. Aethera shows an error if the password cannot be updated.
Set chat defaults
Section titled “Set chat defaults”Defaults apply when you start new chats.

| Default persona | The persona that shapes the assistant’s tone and focus. |
| Default thinking level | The reasoning effort for models that support reasoning. |
If the selected default model does not support reasoning, the thinking-level field is disabled and explains that the model does not support reasoning.
Save and reset states
Section titled “Save and reset states”The save bar at the bottom of Account settings is always visible:
- All up to date means there are no unsaved changes.
- Unsaved changes means you changed profile or default settings.
- Reset discards unsaved changes.
- Save changes saves all dirty account/default fields together.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Save changes is disabled
Section titled “Save changes is disabled”There are no unsaved changes, or account data is still loading.
Password save is disabled
Section titled “Password save is disabled”Enter your current password and a new password. The form remains disabled until required fields are present.
Passwords do not match
Section titled “Passwords do not match”Re-enter the new password and confirmation. They must match exactly.
The thinking level is not available
Section titled “The thinking level is not available”Choose a model that supports reasoning, then pick a default thinking level.
