Image Generation Process
Image Studio keeps generation controls in the bottom dock beneath the canvas. The canvas shows an empty state before generation, a loading state while the model runs, and the finished image or image set when the request completes.
Generate from the dock
Section titled “Generate from the dock”Open Image Studio
Section titled “Open Image Studio”Choose Image Studio from the sidebar.
Choose the workspace context
Section titled “Choose the workspace context”Use the project picker in the canvas header if the generation should belong to a project. Images created in that session can be re-homed by changing the project picker.
Describe the result
Section titled “Describe the result”Write your image prompt in the large text area. Keep the most important subject, setting, and style direction near the beginning.
Pick a model and style
Section titled “Pick a model and style”Use the model selector for the generation model. Use the style selector when you want an Aethera style preset, or leave it on Auto.
Set the format
Section titled “Set the format”Choose an aspect ratio and generation count. A batch count creates multiple options from the same prompt and settings.
Add a reference image
Section titled “Add a reference image”If the selected model supports image-to-image, upload a JPG or PNG reference from the Reference chip. Unsupported models hide or clear the reference control.
Confirm the cost
Section titled “Confirm the cost”The generate button shows a credit estimate, cost varies, or a loading ellipsis while pricing is being checked.
Generate or stop
Section titled “Generate or stop”Select Generate to start. While the request is running, the button switches to Stop so you can cancel the active generation.
After generation
Section titled “After generation”When results load:
- The selected image appears on the center canvas.
- Multiple images appear in a side strip so you can switch between outputs.
- Each generated image is saved to the Studio Gallery.
- The selected image can be edited, upscaled, downloaded, moved to a project, or animated into Video Studio.
Credit behavior
Section titled “Credit behavior”Image Studio checks credits before generation. For models with predictable provider pricing, the button shows an estimate before you generate. For variable-unit models, the button shows cost varies and Aethera settles the final cost from the provider’s reported billable units after the image completes.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Generate is disabled
Section titled “Generate is disabled”Add a prompt and wait for pricing to finish loading. If your plan does not allow the chosen aspect ratio, batch count, or model, choose an available option or upgrade.
The reference control disappeared
Section titled “The reference control disappeared”The newly selected model may not support reference images. Pick an image-to-image-capable model if the reference is required.
The result did not appear
Section titled “The result did not appear”Wait for the loading state to finish. If an error appears, adjust the prompt or settings and try again.
I cancelled the request
Section titled “I cancelled the request”Cancelled requests clear the in-progress preview state and do not settle credits for a failed or aborted generation.
